On Monday, October 20, 2025, the Yukon Convention Bureau (YCB) was delighted to welcome organizers from the Association of Canadian Land Surveyors (ACLS) for an exciting site tour as they prepare for their 2026 National Conference in Whitehorse.
The day began bright and early as our guests gathered at the Hyatt Place before heading to Burnt Toast Café for a hearty Yukon breakfast and some local hospitality. From there, the group explored a selection of the territory’s premier meeting venues, cultural attractions, and uniquely northern experiences.
Our first stop was the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre, a breathtaking riverside venue rich in Indigenous heritage and a key gathering space for events of all sizes. The morning continued with a visit to the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre, where the group took in the fascinating Ice Age history of the region, followed by a tour and meeting at Air North, Yukon’s Airline, to discuss travel logistics and the welcoming spirit of northern air service.
Late morning brought creativity to life at Lumel Glass Studios, where the ACLS team got a hands-on glimpse of Whitehorse’s vibrant arts scene before enjoying a delicious lunch at Gather Café.
In the afternoon, the group toured the Sternwheeler Hotel & Conference Centre, a full-service downtown venue ideal for meetings and large events, before heading to Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs, one of the Yukon’s premier wellness destinations. A scenic bus tour of the Yukon Wildlife Preserve offered the chance to see local fauna up close, from majestic moose to curious mountain goats.
The day concluded with a relaxing and delicious dinner at Belly of the Bison, where our guests reflected on the day’s discoveries and the incredible opportunities that await conference delegates in 2026.
YCB extends a heartfelt thank you to all our incredible partners and hosts who helped make this familiarization tour such a success — your warmth, expertise, and commitment to showcasing the Yukon made a lasting impression.
