YCB held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, June 12, 2025 at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre.Now in its 27th year, the organization reflected on continued growth with a membership of 125 and a calculated economic impact of $10.1 million from 2024–2025. The meeting emphasized YCB’s strong partnership with the Yukon Government and ongoing efforts to support the development of a new convention centre.

The President’s Report highlighted YCB’s collaboration with Business Events Canada (BEC), using tools like the PACE report to monitor recovery trends in the national MICE sector, which is forecast to fully rebound by the end of 2025. Thanks were extended to key sponsors and supporters, including Air North, Holloway Lodging, Northern Vision Development, and several local businesses and media outlets.

In the Manager’s Report, Alida Munro shared operational successes, including 38 new bids submitted over the past year, increased engagement through the Meetings Mean Business Canada network, and YCB’s growing use of AI and technology in event support. Alida also provided an update on the Whitehorse Convention Centre, with $75 million in confirmed funding and construction preparations supported by a 25-year operational agreement.

Treasurer Leneath Yanson presented the financials, which were accepted for the 2023–2024 year, and a draft of the 2024–2025 financials was approved. McKay & Associates were reappointed as accountants, and a motion was passed to waive the formal financial review until November 2025.

The 2025–2026 Board of Directors was confirmed, with Eddie Rideout (Rideout Strategies) returning as President and Tobias Barth (Northern Lights Resort & Spa) elected as Vice President. Leneath Hanson (RJB Marketing) continues as Treasurer, alongside returning directors Nicole Horlbeck (Sternwheeler Hotel), Denis Parry (Air North), and newly elected directors Kyle McKinnon (Northern Vision Development) and Jacqueline Rodrigue (Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre). The Past President position remains vacant. Longtime board member Adam Gerle was recognized for 12 years of dedicated service.

The meeting concluded with gratitude extended to YCB’s staff, partners, and stakeholders for their ongoing commitment to advancing Yukon’s MICE industry.
