YCB Hosts COFAS 2028 Organizers for Private Whitehorse Site Tour

The Yukon Convention Bureau (YCB) was pleased to welcome organizers of the Canadian Organization of Faculty Association Staff (COFAS) 2028 Conference to Whitehorse for a private site inspection tour on June 15–16, 2026.

The two-day visit provided conference planners with an opportunity to experience firsthand the venues, accommodations, cultural attractions, catering services, and unique Yukon experiences that could support a future national conference in Whitehorse.

The itinerary showcased a wide range of meeting and event facilities, beginning with visits to Air North, Yukon’s Airline and the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre. Delegates also toured the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre before enjoying local cuisine and hospitality in downtown Whitehorse.

On the second day, organizers explored additional conference and event venues, including the Yukon Wildlife Preserve Learning Centre, Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs, Lumel Glass Studios, the Sternwheeler Hotel & Conference Centre, and the MacBride Museum of Yukon History. The group also met with local hospitality and catering partners and experienced several of Whitehorse’s unique dining establishments.

The site tour highlighted Whitehorse’s capacity to host national conferences while offering delegates memorable Yukon experiences that blend culture, history, nature, and northern hospitality.
