19th Annual Red Carpet Tour

On November 26, YCB hosted its 19th Annual Red Carpet Tour featuring services and products our YCB Members provide to Events, Conferences, and Meetings across the Yukon. This year’s Red Carpet Tour saw a total of 4 local participants from various government departments and the private sector, and due to a time crunch for a group interested in the spring of 2022, two guests from Montreal joined the tour. Thank you to the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre for kicking off the morning with a tour of the facilities and update on new AV equipment. The Sternwheeler Hotel & Conference Centre joined our group for breakfast with an update on the latest renovations for the property. Our ground transportation sponsor, Standard Bus, drove the group around all day to properties for site visits which included Lumel Glass Studio and Gather Cafe, Raven Inn, Northlight Innovation.Yukonstruct, Best Western Gold Rush Inn, Edgewater Hotel and the newly opened Belly of the Bison restaurant. After an educational tour at the MacBride Museum, we sat down to a delicious lunch catered and served by The Wandering Bison, while Carmen Magro from Klondike Travel & Yukon Tours shared information about the new tours and amenities available for booking and how they can help make events go smoothly. In the afternoon, we visited the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, had a tour of the almost-complete Nordic Eclipse Hot Springs, stopped off at Well Bread Culinary School, and wrapped up the day with a tasting at Polarity Brewing. We learned about the various pre and post meeting activities there are to do in and around Whitehorse, new culinary experiences and some new venue options.
